About the Program
The Miss Frederick Scholarship Program is a local preliminary to the Miss Maryland Organization and Miss America Opportunity. The Miss America Opportunity is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women.
Candidates are judged on talent, private interview, fitness, evening wear, and on-stage question. The young women crowned will be awarded scholarship funds, a prize package from our wonderful sponsors, and a chance to compete on the Miss Maryland stage at the historic Maryland Theater in Hagerstown, Maryland.

The Miss Frederick Scholarship Program has been part of the Frederick community since 1978 and is sponsored by the Fredericktowne Sertoma Club. This local chapter of Sertoma, Inc., a national civic service organization, was formed in April 1991 with a group of 40 professional women. Members of the Sertoma Club have the opportunity to provide Service To Mankind through hands-on volunteer activities and fundraising events.
The Fredericktowne Sertoma Club has issued thousands of dollars in scholarships to young women in Maryland through the Miss Frederick Scholarship Program!
